For my final project I have chosen to record what a day of fishing is like from my perspective and how I approach bass fishing. Although some days are just undeniably better than others, there are certainly a lot of assessments and adjustments that must be made to have a successful fishing trip. With this topic in mind, I decided to choose three platforms: Photoshop, Premiere Rush, and Audition to put my project together. The most difficult thing about planning production was capturing useful footage. Unfortunately, I could not catch anything while on video, but I was able to edit pictures in to make the video flow better. I took several types of video, some being from a fixed angle and others where I pan. Some of the more difficult videos were taken from my perspective while I am taking casts. While filming I made sure to not only record myself, but to observe what was going on around me. I was fortunate enough to get some good videos of a blue heron that was scouting the shorelines for baitfish but was unsuccessful in filming a muskrat that was scurrying around. I decided that it was best to save any explanations I had for what was going on during my trip for a voiceover. It was an extremely windy day and I thought it would be clearer if I recorded the audio after the fact. Upon capturing the necessary footage, I wanted to create a collage that would act as a good introduction for the video. I took a screenshot of the blue heron and uploaded the image into Photoshop. I then took some relevant images from the internet and cropped them onto the pond to make it a little bit more interesting. I decided that it was best to create the video first and record audio accordingly. I uploaded what I had into Premiere Rush and first cut parts that I felt were unnecessary. I then ordered them in a way that I felt would be easiest to explain and created transitions that made the most sense around the audio I was intending to add. I also slowed down some of the footage because I felt it captured some of the moments better. I separated and deleted any audio that I did not want from the original videos and added a song to play in the background. I then went through and recorded audio clips which I edited in audition and uploaded to premiere as separate clips. I was able to use premiere to cut out dead space in the audio and use the “match loudness function to make sure that there was a uniform volume for each separate clip. I wanted to keep the song a constant throughout the video, so I cut the song in a way that I could make it quieter during the sections in which I was talking. I then took the pictures of some of the bass that I caught and inserted them after I explain the lures that I used to catch them. The explanations go over the lures that I use, why I use them, and what knot I use most of the time.
