Mika Zibanejad is on Fire

Nearing the end of the season, the New York Rangers, led by Mika Zibanejad are crawling up the NHL standings. In a five goal game last week against the Washington Capitals, Zibanejad became just the second player in NHL history to score five goals in a game including the overtime winner. He is also the first player to score five goals in a game against the current NHL powerhouse Washington Capitals. He also became the fastest Ranger in franchise history to reach 40 goals.

Script for Sounds

Shuffle, bang, clash, all sounds we use when writing but none of them actually sound like the sound we want to describe. Will this ever be changed or resolved, don’t know, it’s really not all that important but makes for a valid argument and hopefully some interesting audio.

“Alexa, where to?”

To what extent is life already random enough? Many would argue that there are plenty of daily unexpected factors contributing to the complex algorithm of life. Max Hawkins takes this concept to another level allowing a computer algorithm to determine where he will go and what he will do daily. If that wasn’t enough, he took it to a new extreme, letting the computer tell him where he was going to live for 2-3 months at a time.

News for Fans

Surely we were all awaiting the commercial that was said to feature Tom Brady making a big announcement on his potential retirement during this year’s Super Bowl. Living with a bunch of Pats fans, the first thing that was said when Brady was seen on the screen was, “Everyone, shut up!” For about the first 15 seconds, everyone held their breath in sure he was going to announce his retirement. The sudden comical twist gave fans a chance to breathe, and he even eludes to the possibility that he will be staying with the team next season.

Deep Fake

As technology becomes more and more sophisticated, it becomes increasingly important that users are aware of how easily information can be distorted. It is possible for people to cut audio and match it with video that creates an illegitimate representation of what a person is saying or doing, yet in a very convincing way.

Greta Thunberg

Greta Thunberg actively speaks out about climate change and the lack of awareness and action on this issue. People do not always take her seriously, as this video uses Swedish death metal over her voice because she is in fact, Swedish. Using special effects and editing, this video has gone viral and has over 5 million views to date.
