With the largest live crowd of any lift performed in Strongman, Hafthor Bjornsson did not disappoint. Making the lift look easy, he takes the deadlift world record performed in a suit and with straps from pro strongman Eddie Hall. The lift surpasses Hall’s record by a mere 2.2 pounds (or 1 kg), but the ease that it was pulled with left no doubt in viewers minds. In building up to the lift, Hafthor took attempts at 420kg, and 465 kg, which were both smooth lifts. The 501kg pull was very fast off of the ground, and there was a small struggle at the lockout, but overall it looks like there may have been a few pounds he could have added to the bar.
