Top strongman Hafthor Bjornsson, will be taking a crack at the all-time world record deadlift performed by Eddie Hall at 500 KG. There is a lot of speculation around this record attempt being that Hafthor will be judged from the comfort of his home gym. Due to the ongoing crisis with COVID-19, the original plans to attempt the record in official competition in Dubai will not be possible. Despite the criticism that has ensued from the powerlifting/strongman community regarding whether or not this should be deemed a legit record, there is no doubt that Hafthor is prepared to handle this kind of weight. In this video we see him pull 470 KG with ease, in a suit and with straps. He plans on beating the record by just 1 KG on May 2nd.
